Rent price predictions in Switzerland

Rent prices are a substantial part of households’ monthly spending. In Switzerland, approximately 60% of the households do rent the accommodation they live in. A data-driven analysis of rent prices and its spatial variation is thus key for real estate owners and to understand socioeconomic effects on the housing market.

With the fast-growing availability of real world data and new machine learning methodologies, we face new options to model rent prices in a never seen resolution. In an internal case study, UrbanDataLab modeled rent prices in Switzerland using our self developed machine learning platform. These results are now available to our clients through our web application and API.
